Start from a template and read agent logs and usage

Begin with a ready-made agent for your trade, then check everything your agents did, who they dealt with and what it cost.

Templates are ready-made agents written for your trade, so you start from something that already sounds like your business. Logs show every session your agents had: each reply drafted, each call answered and each workflow run. Usage shows what it all cost.

Before you start

  • Anyone on the team can read logs and usage. Using a template needs an owner or an admin.
  • The templates are written for your trade. To see another trade's, type it under Filters › Trade in the Find your trade… box.

Steps

Start from a template

  1. Open AI Agents › Templates.
  2. Search by name or what it does, or narrow the list with the Filters on the left: Channel, Job, Trade, What it can do and Source.
  3. Press Preview on a template to read what it does, what it can do, what changes for you and what to check before you switch it on.
  4. Press Use template. If it would replace what your inbox assistant already says, you are asked first: press Use with the template's name, or Leave it alone.
  5. A message says "Saved as a draft. Read it through before you turn it on." An inbox template is set up with every inbox still off; a voice template is saved without publishing; a workflow template is added as a draft. Open the agent under AI Agents › Agents, read it, change anything that is not right, and switch it on there.

Read the logs

  1. Open AI Agents › Logs. Choose a view at the top: Sessions, Contacts, Metrics or Calls.
  2. In Sessions, narrow the list with When, Which agent, Product (inbox assistant, voice agent or workflow agent), Channel and What came of it. Each row shows when, which agent, who, how long, how many messages and tokens, and how it ended.
  3. Press The thread on a row to open the conversation, or The call to open a call's summary and transcript. Use Newer and Older to page through, and Clear filters to start again.
  4. In Contacts, see each person your agents dealt with, how many sessions, the last time and how it ended.
  5. In Metrics, read the totals for the period (sessions, replies sent, handed to a person, bookings and cost) and the same figures day by day.

Read the usage

  1. Open AI Agents › Usage and choose What used it and When. The table lists each AI feature with its calls, tokens, words and cost.

What happens next

A template becomes your own agent as a draft; nothing changes for customers until you switch it on. Logs fill in as your agents work, and you can come back to them any time. Reading logs and usage costs nothing.

For agencies

You can save one of your own agents as a template for your clients. In your account, or inside a client's, open AI Agents › Templates and find Save an agent as a template. Type a name under Call it and press Save as template. A message says "Saved. Your clients can start from it now." Its instructions, persona, tools and knowledge come across; whether it is switched on does not. Only owners and admins of the agency see this. Your saved templates have an Edit button to rename or reword them.

Troubleshooting

Templates says "No templates yet". The ready-made agents are written from your trade, and none were found for it. Type a close trade under Filters › Trade.

Use template is greyed out. The line under the button says why: "Only an owner or an admin can set an agent up.", or, for a workflow template, that you already have your one workflow agent.

Using an inbox template changed my assistant's wording. It replaces the instructions and persona of the inbox assistant you have. Which inboxes are on, the knowledge it reads and your hours are left alone.

Logs says "Nothing yet". No agent has been switched on, or nothing has reached one yet. Check the agent is live and something triggers it.

"Nothing matches that". Your filters are too narrow. Press Clear filters.

A row says "Erased contact". That person's contact was erased after the session. The session stays in the log.

Usage is higher than expected. Open Usage, set What used it to Everything, and look for the feature at the top of the table. A workflow that runs an agent for every new contact is a common cause.
