Manage texting across your clients
See every client's numbers, US texting registration, sending level and delivery in one table, move a number between clients, and set the texting rules new clients start with.
Texting across your clients is one table of every client's texting: their number, where their US texting registration is, how much they may send a day, how well their texts are delivered, and whether they have been paused. Each client registers under their own business, because the carriers require the business that actually sends the texts, but you can see and chase every registration from here.
Before you start
- You are an owner or admin of the agency account.
- Clients with phone numbers. Numbers are bought inside each client's account, under Settings › Texting › Numbers.
Steps
Check every client at a glance
- Open Agency home, go to the Dashboard tab and press Texting across your clients (next to Newest clients).
- Read each row: - Number: the client's number, and how many more they have. - Registration: Not started, Waiting on the carriers, Registered or Needs attention. - Ramp: the sending level they have reached and how many texts a day it allows. - 30-day delivery: the share of texts delivered, for example "940 of 1,000 delivered". - Status: empty when all is well, or "Paused until" a date with the reason.
- Press a client's name to open their account. Their texting settings, registration and figures are all under Settings › Texting there. Fix and resubmit a registration that needs attention.
Move a number to another client
- Under the number, press Move to another business.
- If they have several numbers, choose Which number. Under Move it to, choose the client that should have it.
- Read the warning. A US number can only be on one business's registration at a time, so texts to US numbers stop until the new client has finished its own registration, usually one to three business days. Texts to other countries carry on.
- Press Move the number.
Set the rules new clients start with
- Open SaaS configurator › Texting for new clients.
- Under What a new client starts with, set Add an opt-out line and its wording (empty uses "Reply STOP to Unsubscribe"), Repeat the opt-out line and how often, Sign texts with the business name and its wording (
{business}becomes the client's name), and Refuse texts to Texas numbers. Every character added to a text is billed to the client. - Under Registration and alerts, choose whether Clients may register for US texting themselves. Off means they are told to ask you, and you register from inside their account. Add the addresses to email about your clients' texting.
What happens next
The table updates as registrations move through the carriers and as clients send. Changes on Texting for new clients save as you make them. The two settings under Registration and alerts apply to every client straight away; the rest apply to new clients.
Carrier registration fees are charged to the client's wallet, at your price if you resell them (see Resell usage to your clients at your own price).
Troubleshooting
A registration says Needs attention. Open the client and read the carriers' reason on their Registration tab. A business name that does not match its tax record exactly is a common cause. Correct it and resubmit.
A client is "Paused until" a date. Too many of their texts failed or too many people opted out. The reason is under the date. Sending resumes after that date; ask the client to clean their list first.
"Couldn't move that number." The number can only move to another of your own clients. Check the client you chose and try again.
Move to another business does not show. You have only one client, or that client has no number.
"Couldn't load your clients' texting." Refresh the page.
