Invite people to a client account
Invite a client's owner or staff, send a fresh link when the first one was lost, and know what the person you invite will see.
The owner is invited when you add a client. Later you can invite more of their staff, or send a new link when an invitation was lost or expired. The person sets their own password: you never see or choose it.
Before you start
- You are an owner or admin of the agency account.
- The email address of the person to invite.
- A free team seat on the client's plan.
Steps
Invite someone new
- Open Sub-accounts and find the client. Use Search by name if the list is long.
- Press the three dots at the end of the client's row and choose Invite someone.
- Type their Email and choose a Role: Owner, Admin or Member.
- Press Send invitation. A message says "Invitation sent."
- The Invitation ready panel shows the Invite link. Press Copy if you want to send it another way too, then Done.
Send a fresh link to the last person invited
- Press the three dots on the client's row and choose Copy invite link. A new link for the last address invited is made and copied. A message says "New invite link copied."
- Paste it into an email or a message to them. The Invitation ready panel also offers Email it to their address.
What happens next
The person gets an email from your brand saying they have been given access to the business, with a link. Opening it shows "You've been invited to" the business name, with two tabs: Create account to set a password, or I already have one to sign in and join. They land in the client's account with the role you chose.
An invite link works once and expires in 7 days. Only a fresh link can be sent: the old one is never stored in a form that can be shown again, so closing the Invitation ready panel is the last time you see that link.
For white-label agencies
Invite links point to your own app domain once it is live, and the email carries your brand. If your domain is not live yet, the link uses the shared address. The join page itself is plain: it names the client's business, with no logo.
Troubleshooting
"No invitation on file yet — use “Invite someone” to send the first one." Nobody has been invited to this client yet. Use Invite someone.
"You've reached your team seats limit". Every seat on the client's plan is taken. Remove someone from their team, add a seat, or move them to a bigger plan.
The person says "This invitation expired". Links last 7 days. Use Copy invite link to make a new one.
The person says "This link is not valid". The link was already used or copied incompletely. Send a fresh one.
The person says "Wrong account signed in". They are signed in with a different email address from the one you invited. They press Sign out on that page and open the link again.
"Invitation could not be sent." The link was made but the email failed. Copy the link from the panel, or press Resend invitation in the box that opens.
