Build a client from a snapshot

Pick a client's trade from the snapshot library, see exactly what will be built, and build it in a new client's account or your own, then copy your own sites and funnels across.

A snapshot is everything a new client account starts with for one trade: a website, a funnel, a booking calendar or a shop, a blog, a contact form, automations and a set of photographs. There is one for each trade in the library, from dentists to bakeries. You pick the trade and the whole business is built in about a minute, using the client's own name, phone and address.

Before you start

  • You are an owner or admin of the agency account.
  • The client's trade, and ideally their business details (name, phone, address, current website).

Steps

  1. Open Snapshots in the sidebar (it is also the Snapshots tab of Agency home).
  2. Type the trade in the search box, for example "dentist", or use Browse categories on the left. You can also narrow the list under Sells.
  3. Press a trade to open it. The right-hand side shows the build plan: the website and its pages, the funnel, the booking calendar and its services or the shop and its products, the blog posts, the contact form and the photograph set. This is exactly what is created.
  4. Choose how to build it: - Create a client with this: opens Add client with this trade already chosen. Finish the client's details and tick Build the … snapshot now (see Add a client account). - Build it in my account: opens Build my business in your own account, so you can see what a client gets.
  5. Watch the build. Each part is listed as it is made ("Building the website", "Opening your booking diary", "Putting it live") and, when it is done, where to find it.
  6. Follow the Setup guide on the snapshot page: check the words on the site, put it on the client's domain, connect their Stripe, set the diary hours or test the form, send them the review link and put them on a plan.

What happens next

The client's site, funnel, blog and form are built and published with their name and details. Products and a store are created switched off until they are priced. Reviews are left empty: nothing is invented.

To build a client later, open their account and use Build my business in their sidebar. Answer What kind of business is it?, What do you sell?, optionally their current website, and Tell us about the business, then press Build my business.

On the Resell plan, a plan can build a snapshot on signup: set Snapshot built on signup on the plan, and every client who buys it gets that trade's business the moment they pay (see Create plans to sell to your clients).

Pin the look. Every new client is given one of several designed arrangements for their kind of business, so two clients differ. On Sub-accounts, the How new client sites look card lets you pin one arrangement per kind of business. The client's photographs, logo and colours stay their own.

Copy your own work. To hand a site, funnel or store you built to a client, open its menu in Sites and choose Copy to client…, then press Copy here beside the client. The pages, words, look and forms go across as an unpublished copy; their logo, products and automations stay their own.

Troubleshooting

"No trade matches. Try another word." Try a broader word, such as "clinic" instead of "orthodontist", or pick the closest category. When building, you can also describe the business under Tell us about the business.

"We could not start the build." Choose what kind of business it is first, then press Build my business again.

"Client created, but the build could not start." The client exists. Open their account and use Build my business there.

The site shows the wrong phone number or address. They come from the client's details. Fix them in the client's settings and on the site, then republish.

A copied funnel is not live. Copies arrive unpublished on purpose. Open it in the client's account, check it, and publish.
