Create a brand
Set the product name, logos, accent colour, favicon, support details and sign-in wording your clients see instead of anyone else's.
A brand is what your clients see when they log in: your product name, your logo, your colours, the support address they write to and the words on the sign-in page. Unlimited includes one brand and Resell includes five. One brand is always your default, and clients get it unless you choose another.
Before you start
- You are an owner or admin of the agency account.
- Your logo as a PNG or SVG with a transparent background, at least 400 × 100 px. A wide wordmark reads better than a square icon in the sidebar. A version for dark backgrounds if you have one.
- Your accent colour as a hex code, for example #0F6B57.
- The email address clients should write to for help.
Steps
- Open Brands and press Add brand.
- Type the Brand name, for example "Northwind Studio". It is shown in place of your logo and is required if you do not upload one.
- Check the Key. It is filled in from the name; it must be lowercase with no spaces.
- Under Logo, press Upload and choose your file. A preview shows it at the size the sidebar uses.
- Under Logo (dark), upload the version for dark mode, if you have one.
- Pick the Accent colour with the colour picker, or type the hex code beside it.
- Type the Support email, for example help@northwind.studio.
- Type a Sign-in headline and Sign-in subtext for this brand's sign-in page, for example "Welcome to Northwind" and "Sign in to manage your bookings and site".
- Press Create brand. A message says "Brand created." The brand appears as a card showing its logo, colour, domain and number of clients.
Add a favicon and a help link to your default brand
- Open Settings › Branding. The What your clients see card edits your default brand.
- Set the Product name and, under Favicon, upload the small icon for the browser tab. Type a Support link to your help pages. Check the other fields.
- Press Save. A message says "App branding saved."
What happens next
The brand is ready to put on clients, but it becomes their sign-in address only once you add its app domain (see Put the app on your own domain). Until then, the card says No domain yet.
On each brand card you can:
- Edit the brand.
- Make default, so new clients get it and Settings › Branding edits it. Clients who were given your default brand without choosing one follow the default, so they change to the new default too.
- Archive a brand you no longer offer. Existing clients keep it; the archive is refused while any client still uses it.
- Delete a brand permanently. This button only appears when the brand has no clients, no domain, is not the default and is not your last brand.
Changes show to clients the next time they load the app.
For white-label agencies
Your logo and name are used in the sidebar, on the sign-in page and in the emails your clients get. Removing the logo asks you to confirm, because every client using the brand loses it at once.
Troubleshooting
Add brand is greyed out: "The … plan includes 1 brand." You have used your plan's brands. Add an extra brand from the offer below the message, charged to your wallet, or move to Resell.
"Brands are part of the agency plans." Your account is not an agency account. Change your plan under Settings › Billing & wallet.
Create brand is greyed out. Type a brand name or upload a logo, and make sure the key is not empty.
"Product name is required when no logo is set." In Settings › Branding, type a product name or upload a logo.
The logo looks tiny in the sidebar. It is square or has a lot of empty space around it. Upload a wide wordmark trimmed close to the edges.
"Couldn't archive that brand." Clients still use it. Move them to another brand first (see Move a client to another brand).
