Build your first funnel before you have an account

Answer three questions, see your funnel live, then sign up to keep it and publish it.

BusinessWho can do it: owner

You can build a funnel before you create an account. You answer three short questions, the funnel is built in about a minute, and you see it live in your browser. To edit it, publish it and take money, you sign up and the funnel moves into your new account.

Before you start

  • The address of the funnel builder that your provider gives you (it ends in /try).
  • Your website address, if you have one. It saves typing. No site? A page you like works too, to borrow its style.
  • A name for what you sell and one or two lines on what is included. Wick & Ember Candle Co., for example, might sell "Candle-making workshop" with "Two hours in our Bristol studio" and "Take home three candles".

Steps

  1. Open the funnel builder. A window called Create a new funnel opens.
  2. Business – Who is this funnel for? Under Your website, choose It's my website or A page I like, then paste the address and press the arrow. The page is read and the fields below are filled in for you. Check Name of the business and Industry, and correct them if needed.
  3. Press Next.
  4. Goal – What should this funnel do? Choose a Goal, and a Tone if you want one. Different goals produce different page sequences.
  5. Press Next.
  6. Offer – What are you selling? Fill in Offer name, a price if there is one (leave it blank if it is free), and at least one line under What's included. Use your real wording: it goes on the page as written. The window shows which pages will be built.
  7. Press Generate funnel. Progress shows while the pages are written, which takes about a minute.
  8. Your funnel opens in a preview. A note at the top says forms, checkout and the newsletter switch on when you sign up. Press Open in a new tab to see it full size.
  9. Press Sign up to edit and publish. The sign-up page opens with the Sign up tab chosen.
  10. Create your account (see Create your account and sign in). Use the same browser you built the funnel in.
  11. Once you are signed in, the message "Your funnel is yours. Here it is." appears and the funnel opens in your account, ready to edit.

What happens next

The funnel is now an ordinary funnel in Sites › Funnels. Edit any page, then publish it when you are happy. To take payments on it, connect Stripe. To put it on your own web address, connect a domain.

A funnel built without an account is kept for seven days. After that it is removed.

Troubleshooting

The page says "This build is gone". A funnel built without an account is kept for seven days, then removed. Press Build again and sign up straight after, to keep it for good.

I signed up but my funnel isn't in my account. The link between the build and your sign-up is kept in the browser you built it in. If you signed up on another device or in another browser, it could not be found. Open the preview link again in the browser you used to build it, press Sign up to edit and publish, and sign in with your new account.

I confirmed my email in a new tab and the funnel didn't appear. Confirming in a new tab works, as long as it is the same browser and within seven days. If it still did not appear, open the preview link again and press Sign up to edit and publish, then sign in.

Reading my website failed. Some sites block being read. A message appears under the field. Type the business name and choose the industry yourself; the rest of the builder works the same.

The form on my preview does nothing. That is expected. Forms, checkout and the newsletter only work once you sign up and publish.

It stopped with an error during building. Wait a moment and press Generate funnel again. Your answers are still in the window.
