Run more than one business and switch between them
Add a second business to your login, move between businesses from the account menu, and pass new contacts from one to another.
One login can own several businesses. Each has its own site, shop, calendar, contacts and automations, and its own plan. The account menu at the top of the sidebar moves you between them.
A fitness coach who also sells candles, for example, can keep the coaching business and Wick & Ember Candle Co. apart while signing in once.
Before you start
- You are signed in as the owner of the business you are in now.
- A name for the new business (at least two characters).
Steps
Add a second business
- Open Settings › General. The first card is Your businesses, listing the businesses you own. The one you are in is marked this one.
- Type the name in Name of the new business.
- Press Add a business. The message "Business added. Switch to it from the account menu at the top left, then build it." appears, and the new business joins the list.
Switch to another business
- Press the account menu under the logo at the top of the sidebar. It shows the name of the business you are in.
- Type in Search for an account to filter, or look under Recent and All accounts.
- Press the business you want. The app reloads its data and opens that business's dashboard.
- To come back, open the menu again and press Back to my account, or pick the other business from the list.
Choose where you land, and pin favourites
- Press the house icon beside a business to make it your landing account, the one you arrive in.
- Press the pin icon to keep a business at the top of All accounts. Press it again to unpin.
Send new contacts from one business to another
- In the business the contacts arrive in, open Settings › General › Your businesses.
- Tick Send new contacts here beside the business that should also receive them.
- From now on, each new contact here is also sent to that business, where it arrives as a new contact and starts that business's own follow-ups. Untick the box to stop.
What happens next
The new business starts on the Free plan, with nothing in it. Switch to it and use Build my business, or work through the first-week checklist. Its plan, wallet, team and settings are separate from your first business.
For agencies
The same menu lists your client accounts. Opening a client you are not a member of shows a bar across the top: "You are working in (client) as their agency." Every such visit is logged. Press Back to my account, or Switch to Agency View in the menu, to leave. An agency with no clients yet sees "No client accounts yet."
Client accounts are never on the Your businesses list and cannot receive contacts through it.
Troubleshooting
I can't see the account menu. It shows only when you have more than one account. Add a second business first.
"Send new contacts here" isn't there. The tick box shows only when you are in a business you own, beside the other businesses you own.
I switched and my pages disappeared. You are in the other business. Each business has its own pages. Check the name in the account menu and switch back.
"Couldn't switch to that account." Reload the page and try again. If it keeps failing, you may no longer have access to that account; ask its owner.
The new business has none of my plan's features. Each business has its own plan, and a new one starts on Free. Change its plan under Settings › Billing & wallet while you are in it.
