Your first-week checklist

The nine settings worth doing in your first week, in the order that saves you rework.

A few settings decide how you look, whether you can be paid, and whether your emails and texts arrive. Do them in this order; each takes a few minutes, apart from the DNS waits.

Before you start

  • You are an owner or admin of the account.
  • Your logo (PNG, SVG or JPEG, under 5 MB) and your two brand colours.
  • A login for the company where you bought your web address (your "DNS provider"), for the two domain steps.
  • Your existing customers saved as a CSV file, if you have them.

Steps

  1. Add your contact details and social links. Open Settings › General. Under Where leads reach you, fill in Contact email, Contact phone and Business address, then press Save. Under Social profiles, paste full links starting with https:// and press Save. See Set your contact details and social profiles.
  2. Add your logo and colours. Open Settings › Branding and press Edit funnel branding. Upload your Logo, check the Brand name, set Primary colour and Secondary colour, and press Save changes. See Add your logo, name and colours.
  3. Connect Stripe so you can be paid. Open Settings › Payments and press Connect Stripe. Sign in with the Stripe account you have, or create one on the way. When you come back, the card says Stripe is connected. You can be paid. See Connect your Stripe account.
  4. Put your pages on your own web address. Open Sites › Domains and press Add domain. Type the address (a subdomain such as book.brightdental.com is the easiest), choose Funnel pages, press Save and show DNS, and add the record at your DNS provider. See Connect your own domain.
  5. Send email from your own domain. Open Settings › Channels and find Sending domain. Press Add domain, fill it in, press Add and get DNS records, add every record at your DNS provider, then press Check now. See Send email from your own domain.
  6. Bring in your contacts. Open Contacts and press Import. Drop your CSV file in and match the columns. See Import contacts.
  7. Invite your team. Open Settings › Team and press Invite teammate. Type their email, choose Admin or Member, and press Send invite. See Invite your team.
  8. Get a phone number for texts. First add money to the wallet (Settings › Billing & wallet › Top up), because the number is paid from it. Then open Settings › Channels, press Set up on the SMS row, and press Get a number. For numbers in the United States, finish the Registration tab too, or texts to US numbers are held. See Get a phone number.
  9. Switch on the AI helpers you want. Open AI Agents. The Getting started tab shows each agent – Inbox assistant, Voice agent, Appointment scheduler, Review replies and social replies – with a Set up button. AI is paid from your wallet, so keep it topped up. See Set up the inbox assistant.

What happens next

Your pages, emails and checkout carry your brand, you can take payments, and your emails come from your own address once the domain is verified. The Needs you panel on the dashboard lists anything that needs fixing, worst first.

For agencies

Do this list in your own agency account, then inside each client account. A client with no sending domain of its own sends from your agency's verified domain.

For clients of an agency

Your agency may have done some of these for you already. Settings you cannot change, or items that are not on your plan, are your agency's to decide; ask them.

Troubleshooting

A step's button is missing. Most of these buttons show only to owners and admins. Ask an owner or admin to do the step.

Stripe sent me back but it says it still needs a bit more. Stripe needs a detail or a document before it will take payments. Press Finish setting up to pick up where you left off.

My domain or sending domain is still waiting. DNS changes can take from minutes up to 48 to 72 hours. Check that you added each record exactly as shown. See Pages not loading on your domain.

"Your wallet cannot cover the number's first month." The first month is charged from the wallet before the number is ordered. Top up under Settings › Billing & wallet, then try again.
