Edit a page in the editor
Change words, pictures, buttons and sections by clicking them on the page, and set the look for the whole site.
The editor shows your page as visitors see it. You click the thing you want to change and change it there: a heading, a picture, a button. Pages are built from sections, which you can add, move and remove. Every change saves as you go.
Before you start
- A funnel, website or store. Open a page from Sites: press Edit on a funnel step, the pencil on a website, or the pencil on a store page under the store's Storefront tab.
Steps: change words, pictures and buttons
- Click any text on the page and type over it.
- Click a picture to open the picture picker. Choose Our library, Custom (photographs made for your business) or Upload to use your own. On a full-width hero picture, use the Change photo pill in its corner.
- Click a button to choose where it goes: Buy this product (to your checkout step), Book a time, Go to the next step, Jump to a part of this page, Go to a page, Download a file, External web address, Phone call or Email.
- Click the logo to change it, and a social icon to change or remove it.
Steps: add, move and remove sections
- Hover between two sections and press Add section, or use the one at the end of the page.
- In Add a block, pick a group, then the arrangement you want. It is added with example words and pictures you then change.
- Hover a section to see its controls: Move up, Move down, a control to put its picture on the other side (on sections that have one), and Delete section, which asks you to confirm.
- Changed your mind? Press Undo last change.
Steps: set the look
The panel beside the page sets the look. Changes to it apply to every page of the site or funnel at once, and you see "Applied to all 5 pages".
- Look: pick an arrangement for where headings, pictures and buttons sit. Press the arrow for another twelve.
- Background, Type, Brand colour and Gradient set the colours and lettering.
- On a store's shop page, Shelf sets the products to a line and how much of the page the shelf takes.
Steps: publish and preview
- Watch the save status beside the page name: Saving…, then Saved with how long ago.
- On a funnel step, press Publish to make it live. The button then reads Live — click to unpublish. Website pages are live from the start and have no Publish button.
- Press the preview button (Preview the published page) to open the live page in a new tab.
What happens next
- There is no separate draft of a live page. Once a change says Saved, visitors to a published page see it.
- On a website, the page picker at the top moves between pages, and Menu changes the site's navigation. See Create and manage a website.
- Custom photos makes photographs for your business in about thirty seconds. Your plan includes some each month; the dialog says how many are left, and more are paid from your wallet. Choose Use on this page or Apply to every page.
- Search settings sets how the page appears in search results. See Set how a page appears in search results.
- A testimonials section can show your real reviews: hover it and press Use my real reviews.
For agencies
Edit a client's pages inside their account with Sub-accounts › Open.
Troubleshooting
The editor says "Could not save". Your last change is not stored. Press Retry beside it. If it keeps failing, check your connection before making more changes.
I deleted a section by mistake. Press Undo last change on any section's controls straight away. Undo steps back through your recent changes one at a time.
Clicking a blog page says "Written by your blog". Blog pages are rebuilt every time a post is published, so changes here would be lost. Edit the post under Sites › Blogs instead.
The preview button is greyed out with "Publish this page to preview it". The funnel step is a draft and has no public address yet. Publish it first.
"Buy this product" is greyed out in the button dialog. It says why: "Add a product first", or "This funnel has no checkout step". Add what is missing, or send the button to a page instead.
The look changed on every page, not only this one. Look, background, type and colours belong to the whole site. Change them back from any page.
