What your customers see in their account
How buyers sign in to their account on your site, and where they find their courses, downloads, memberships and orders.
Every buyer has an account on your site, at /account on your site's address. It is where they open courses, download files, see what a membership includes, and check an order and its tracking. It carries your logo and your business name. Knowing what it looks like helps you answer customers who ask "where is my course?".
Before you start
- A published store or funnel that has sold something. The account shows what somebody has bought, so a person with no orders has nothing to see.
Steps: how a buyer signs in
- The buyer follows the link in their Order confirmation email, or goes to
/accounton your site. - They type the Email address they bought with.
- If they have set a password, they type it under Password (if you have set one). If not, they leave it empty.
- They press Sign in. With no password, or a wrong one, a sign-in link is emailed instead, and the page says "If you have ordered from us, a link is on its way."
- They open the link from the email. It works once and lasts 30 minutes.
What they see once signed in
- My library: everything they can open, download or belong to, grouped under Courses, Downloads and Memberships when they have more than one kind. A course shows their progress and Start the course or Carry on; a download has its download button; a membership lists what it Includes.
- A course opens on one page, module by module, with a progress bar, Carry on where you left off, and each lesson's video, text, worksheet and quiz. They press Mark as finished on each lesson. A delayed lesson says "Opens in 3 days" or "Opens tomorrow". Certificates and badges they have earned are shown at the top.
- Orders: what they paid, when, and where it is, with the delivery status and tracking. An order appears once its payment has gone through.
- Profile: their first name, last name and phone. Their email is shown but cannot be changed there, because it is how they sign in.
- Settings: a tick box for offers and news by email, and an optional Password (at least ten characters) so they can sign in without waiting for an email. Receipts and delivery updates are sent whatever the tick box says.
Things to know
- Only paid orders open anything. A bank-debit order opens its courses and downloads once the payment settles.
- Somebody who bought only something posted lands on Orders, where the tracking is.
- A customer cannot change their own email address in the account. The page tells them to ask you.
For white-label agencies
The account page shows the client's own logo and business name, on the client's own site address. The platform's name never appears.
For clients of an agency
Your buyers see your logo and business name, and the emails they receive link to your own site.
Troubleshooting
A buyer says the sign-in link has expired. Links last 30 minutes and work once. They can ask for a fresh one on the same page by entering their email again. Setting a password in Settings saves waiting next time.
A buyer never gets the sign-in email. The link is only sent to an email address that has ordered from you. Check the address on their order under Sales › Orders; they may have bought with a different one. Ask them to check spam.
A buyer signed in but sees "Nothing here yet". Their payment has not gone through, or they bought with a different email address. See Fix buyers who cannot get into what they bought.
"That password is too short". Passwords need ten characters or more. Nothing was changed.
