Change the words and picture on an image ad

Edit the headline, layout, colours and crop of one picture, swap its photograph, and export it as a finished file.

The words on an image ad sit on top of the picture, not inside it, so you can change them as often as you like at no cost. You can also move them, change the layout and colours, crop the picture to another shape, or ask for something in the photograph to be changed.

Before you start

Steps

Edit one picture

  1. Go to Marketing › Image ads and open the ad.
  2. On the picture you want, click Edit. The editor opens with Editing one picture at the top.
  3. Click a word on the picture to change it. Drag a block to move it, or choose it and nudge it with the arrow keys. Click Add text for an extra text box.
  4. Use the panels on the side: - Words: Headline, Subtext (or Caption), Badge and Button. Changes here apply to this picture only; the others keep the ad's words. - Layout: search with Find a layout, filter by family, or choose Plain for no layout. - Style: size, weight and colour of one line of text. - Colours: change the accent colour for this picture, or click Swap ink and paper to put dark words on a light photograph or light words on a dark one. - Position: set Across and Down, or click Centre it again. - Logo: show or hide it, and pick a corner. - Crop: pick another shape, then click Move what it keeps and press the part of the picture to keep. Click Done moving it when finished.
  5. Use the undo and redo buttons if you change your mind.
  6. Click Save. It then reads Saved.

Change something in the photograph

  1. In the editor, open Change something in the picture.
  2. Describe the change, for example "Put it on a wooden table in a kitchen."
  3. Click Draw it again. This draws the photograph again and costs one picture. Your words, layout and colours stay exactly as they are.

Change the picture on a post that already went out

  1. Go to Marketing › Social › Posts, click the three dots on the post, and choose Edit the picture and its words.
  2. Click Change picture and choose another photograph from the picture library, your own photographs, or an upload.
  3. Click a word to change it, drag it to move it, then click Save.
  4. Post it again to update the network. A message reminds you: "Picture changed. Post it again when it looks right."

Export finished files

  1. On the ad's page, tap the pictures you want, then click Export. Or click Export on one picture.
  2. A message says "Exported — the words are in the picture now." The picture shows Exported.

What happens next

  • Word, layout, colour and crop changes are free. Only Draw it again and Draw again cost a picture.
  • An exported picture is one flat file with the words baked in, ready for any ad or post.
  • If you close the editor with unsaved changes, it asks Keep these changes? Choose Save and close, Throw them away or Stay here.

Troubleshooting

A picture shows "Needs redrawing". Some older pictures are too old to put words into. Click Draw them again; the price is on the button.

The headline is hard to read on the photograph. Click Swap ink and paper, choose a layout with a panel behind the text, or shorten the headline.

My word changes did not appear on the post. Editing the picture does not change what the network already shows. Post it again from the Posts tab.

The Logo panel says "No logo on this brand yet." Add a logo address in the ad's own form: click Change it on the ad's page, then Override under Your brand. It then appears in the editor.

Draw it again changed more than I asked. The whole photograph is drawn again from your description. Describe the change more precisely and try again.
