Collect leads with lead forms

A lead form opens inside the social network, already filled in with what the person has told the network, so signing up takes one tap. You create the form here. The answers are pulled back into your contacts, tagged with the form's name, and your new-lead automations run on them.

Before you start

• A social page connected under Marketing › Social › Accounts. A form lives on the page that shows it.
• A privacy policy page on your site. The network requires a link to it.
• The owner or admin role.

Steps

1. Go to Marketing › Ads and open the Lead forms tab.
2. Click New form.
3. Type a Name, for example "Spring enquiries". This name becomes the tag on every contact the form brings in.
4. Under Page, choose the connected page the form belongs to.
5. Under What it asks, tick Name, Email and Phone as needed.
6. Add up to 3 questions of your own, for example "What are you looking for?" for a dental clinic's new-patient form.
7. Check the Thank-you message. It starts as "Thanks — we will be in touch shortly." Change it if you like.
8. Check the Privacy policy link. It is filled in with your own privacy page. Change it if your site lives somewhere else.
9. Click Create form. A message says "Form created."

What happens next

• New answers are pulled in automatically every 15 minutes.
• Each person becomes a contact tagged with the form name. Somebody already in your contacts is matched rather than added twice.
• Your new-lead automations run on them: a workflow that starts with A new contact arrives can, for example, text them within the hour.
• Each form shows how many leads it has and when it was last checked. To fetch answers now, click Pull leads.

Troubleshooting

The Lead forms tab says "Connect a page under Social, Accounts first". A form needs a page, not only an ad account. Connect your page on Marketing › Social › Accounts.

It says "A link to your privacy policy is required by the network." Fill in Privacy policy link with the address of your privacy page.

Pull leads says "No new leads." Nobody has filled the form in since the last pull. Check the form is being shown by an ad on the network.

It says "more pages remain. Press again to continue." There were more answers than one pull brings in. Click Pull more until it stops offering more.

A form says "Never pulled". It has not been checked yet. Click Pull leads, or wait for the next automatic pull.

The contacts arrived but my automation didn't run. Check the workflow is Running and that its trigger is A new contact arrives with From set to Anywhere, not one funnel. A contact who was already known is matched, not new, so that trigger does not start again for them. See Why a workflow didn't run.
