A template is an email design you keep and reuse: your newsletter layout, your "new class announced" email, your monthly offer. You can start from one of the ready-made designs, have one built from a description, or build your own from blank. Templates use your logo and brand colour.

Before you start

  • Your logo and brand colour under Settings › Branding, so the designs come out in your colours.

Steps

Start from a ready-made design

  1. Go to Marketing › Email and open the Templates tab.
  2. Make sure System templates is selected at the top.
  3. Pick a category, such as Newsletter, E-commerce or Appointment, or type into Search email templates.
  4. Click a design. It is copied into your templates and opens in the editor ("Copied into your templates — edit it however you like.").
  5. Change the name at the top, then edit the Subject and the blocks. Use Preview to check it.

Have one built for you

  1. On the Templates tab, click Build with AI.
  2. Describe the email, for example "a spring sale on the bread course, 30% off, ends Sunday".
  3. Click Build it. The new template opens in the editor. Read every word before you use it.

Start from blank

  1. On the Templates tab, click New. An empty template called "Untitled template" opens.
  2. Build it with Design (blocks, added with Add a block) or switch to HTML to paste your own code.

Changes save by themselves. The top bar shows Saving…, then Saved.

Use a template

  • In a new campaign, choose From a template on the first step. Your own templates are listed under Your templates.
  • In a send from Contacts, pick it in the Template box. Its subject fills in for you if you have not typed one.

Keep templates tidy

  1. Switch to My templates to see only yours. The grid and list buttons change the view; the list shows Title, Type and Updated on.
  2. Click Create folder to group them, then use the three dots on a template to move it.
  3. Use the three dots and Delete to remove one you no longer need.

What happens next

  • A campaign made from a template takes a copy. Editing the template later does not change campaigns you have already created from it.
  • A send from Contacts that uses a template sends the template as it is at that moment. To change the words, open the template and edit it.

Troubleshooting

The design is not in my colours. Templates take the logo and colour from Settings › Branding. Add them there, then open the template again.

My template is not offered when I send from Contacts. Only templates on the My templates side are offered. A system design has to be clicked once to copy it into your templates first.

The Templates tab says "Nothing here yet". You have no templates of your own yet. Click Browse system templates, or use Build with AI or New.

It says "Couldn't start from that." The copy did not save. Refresh the page and click the design again.

I switched from HTML to Design and was asked to confirm. The email was written as HTML. Starting a design replaces it with blocks. Choose to carry on only if you want to rebuild it in blocks.
