Make a batch of image ads
Say what you are selling and get a batch of finished ad pictures, with your headline and button laid over them, in the shapes the networks want.
Image ads draw a batch of pictures for what you sell and lay your headline, button and logo over them. The words are never painted into the picture itself, so you can change every word afterwards for nothing. You then pick the ones you like, post them, or test them against each other.
Before you start
- The owner or admin role.
- Credit in your wallet. Pictures beyond your plan's monthly allowance are paid from it.
- Your logo and brand colour under Settings › Branding, if you want them on the ads.
- Optional: the product in your store, or the page you want people to land on.
Steps
- Go to Marketing › Image ads and click New ad.
- Under What is this ad for?, choose a goal: Sell a product, Fill the book, Enrol students, Sell a download or Collect leads. It decides the scene, the button and the link.
- Under What is in the picture?, do one of these: - Pick something from From your products. - Paste a page address and click Read it, then Use this to fill in the details from it. - Choose Describe it myself and write it In your own words, for example "A hand-poured soy candle in an amber jar on an oak shelf, soft evening light".
- Check Where the button goes. It is filled in for you from the goal and the product.
- Under Your brand, check the colour and logo. Click Override to use a different Colour or Logo address for this ad only.
- Under The creative, choose: - Shapes: Instagram feed (1:1), Tall feed post (4:5), Story or Reel (9:16) and Wide (16:9). Pick as many as you need. - How many: 2, 5 or 10 pictures. - Scene: Lifestyle, Studio, Flat lay, Outdoors or Abstract.
- Write the words: Headline, Button, and optionally Subtext and Badge (a two-word pill such as "Free quote" or "−20%").
- Read the price line beside the button. It shows how many images will be drawn, the total, and the price of each picture, taken from your wallet when they are drawn.
- Click Draw them.
What happens next
- The ad's page opens and shows "Drawing your pictures. They appear here as they finish — you can leave this page." A batch usually comes back in about a minute.
- Each picture is shown with your words, layout and logo on top.
- Tap the ones you like. The bar above them then offers Export, Test these, Schedule and Post now.
- Your ads are listed on the Ads tab of Image ads. Search them with Find an ad by name, headline or what it is about, or filter by goal.
- To try new pictures with the same words, use Draw another batch at the bottom of the ad's page.
Troubleshooting
Draw them is greyed out and says "Say what is in the picture first". Pick a product, read a page, or describe the picture in your own words.
The price line says "Your wallet cannot cover this yet." Top up under Settings › Billing & wallet, or draw fewer pictures or fewer shapes.
It cost more than I expected. Each shape is drawn for each picture. Five pictures in two shapes is ten images. The price line shows the count before you draw.
The ad says "That batch didn't finish." Nothing was taken from your wallet. Click Change it and draw again, or try a simpler description.
The headline runs over the picture or is hard to read. Choose a shorter headline, or open the picture and pick a different layout. See Change the words and picture on an image ad.
An ad in the list says "Empty". It was started but nothing was drawn. Open it and finish it, or delete it with the bin on its card.
